March 3 - 7

What a week, little one had more fun with Seuss, big kid and I played around in Oz. See the Wonderful Oz Bento Blogger and Friends Yellow brick road hop here.

Monday - Continuing our Dr. Seuss celebration, really this one fits all days but especially true on Mondays...I am NOT Going to Get up Today! by Dr. Seuss.


In this lunch :
  • Peanut butter and jelly bed and boy with cheese pillow and blanket
  • Babybel clock
  • Carrots
  • Apple Seuss hat
Little blue monkey and I had a field trip to a farm today so he got the big red barn.
In this lunch :
  • Peanut butter and jelly barn with cheese doors and chicken
  • Animal crackers
  • Grapes
  • Peanut butter celery
Tuesday - More Dr. Seuss fun for little blue monkey. Big green monkey went back to his favorite Doctor Who.
Adipose

In this lunch :
  • Ham and cheese Adipose
  • Babybel Adipose
  • Pirates booty because they look like adipose too
  • Strawberries with marshmallow adipose. 1 large marshmallow 2 miniature marshmallows one cut diagonal for arms and 1 cut in half for feet, they were sticky enough to hold without melting chocolate or frosting.

Wednesday - Oz the Great and Powerful is coming out this weekend so the Bento Bloggers and friends prepared a blog hop... a 2 day blog hop! Check out day 1 here and day 2 here .

In this lunch :
  • Peanut butter and jelly on multi-grain wrap pinwheels on green sword picks. We were going to do the lollipop guild but weren't sure they made it into this prequel so we stuck to the preview characters.
  • Wicked Witch on wheat bread
  • Oz's Magician's hat on wheat with fruit leather and cheese
  • Babybel Glinda's crown
  • Half ham sandwich with cheese tornado, rainbow, and yellow brick road
  • Grapes and watermelon OZ
  • Celery and peanut butter Emerald City
Thursday - Dr. Seuss for little blue monkey, and Oz for me and Green monkey.


 In this lunch :
  • Peanut butter and jelly fish with red or blue sprinkles and candy eyes
  • Color goldfish
  • Sharks gummys
  • Carrots loosely in Cat in the Hat form he didn't want the ranch on top so not allowed to do my stripe idea, he likes the dressing in a separate cup (sigh).
  • Daisy-head Mayzie grapes and strawberries, used the small flower cutter and green sword picks. I had one and then couldn't stop myself from making a second :)

  • Peanut butter and jelly Finley (flying monkey) bat cutter, bear cutter, and free-hand tail and hat, and candy eyes
  • Peanut butter and jelly China doll
  • Babybel river faery from the preview
  • Broccoli forest
  • Cucumber wicked witch hand grabbing OZ
  • Grape munchkins in a fruit roll up trench coat
  • Butterfly Little Debbie Cakes as a treat

In my lunch :
  • Mixed greens salad with cauliflower clouds, broccoli forest, ham mountains, and Glinda and Oz floating away in provolone bubbles
  • Sugar snap peas and strawberry poppy field
  • Almond tornado with hot air balloon made from cucumber, carrots, babybel and a black olive Oz hat

Oz the Great and Powerful Blog Hop

Welcome ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, to the greatest show in Kansas. The Bento Bloggers and Friends are at it again. Come hop along our yellow brick road for day 2 of bento fun to celebrate Disney's Oz the Great and Powerful.

Oscar the wizard from Kansas, is swept away in his hot air balloon caught in a tornado over the rainbow and into the land of Oz. It is prophesied that he will inherit the wealth of Oz if he can pass the test and kill the wicked witch. 

In this lunch :
  • Peanut butter and jelly on multi-grain wrap pinwheels on green sword picks
  • Half Ham sandwich with cheese tornado, rainbow, and yellow brick road cheese
  • Wicked witch wheat bread
  • Oz magician's hat with fruit leather and cheese on wheat
  • Babybel Glinda's crown
  • Peanut butter and celery Emerald city
  • Watermelon Oz over grapes

I felt my Green monkey needed more food, so I added a China doll at the last minute and some sparkly butterfly snack cakes as a dessert.

New friends will help The Great and Powerful Oz realize his full potential. Finley the flying monkey, the pink creature, and of course munchkins!

In this lunch:
  • Peanut butter and jelly Finley (Flying monkey) Bat cutter + Bear cutter + scraps for the tail and hat
  • Broccoli forest
  • Babybel river faery
  • Munchkin grapes stacked in a fruit roll-up trench coat 
  • Cucumber wicked witch fingers, grabbing OZ 
  • Peanut butter and jelly China doll
 "Oz: [sotto voice, to Glinda] I might not actually be a wizard... Glinda: Yes, but they don't know that."


In my lunch:
  • Mixed greens salad with cauliflower clouds, ham mountains, and broccoli forest
  • Oz and Glinda traveling by bubbles provolone cheese
  • Almonds tornado 
  • Babybel hot air balloon with carrot ropes, black olive Oz, and cucumber basket
  • Sugar snap peas and strawberry poppy field

 Previously I had done some familiar faces from the original Wizard of Oz, you can see that post here based on the book by L. Frank Baum. We watch the movie every year at Thanksgiving.
