Ok back in black. Err on track? Monday! Wait that was way too enthusiastic..Monday. Ok deep breaths, coffee check...wine check. What? I meant for after the little darlings are tucked in bed. An adventurous weekend of rainy cub-o-ree camp out for Green monkey and a sick weekend for Blue monkey. I thought I was being all "mom-of-the-year" by grounding him (Blue) from the camp out for his behavior...and then he goes and gets sick, so sympathy weekend instead of behavior training, so be it. Poor Daddy and Green monkey had to endure all the rain for 3 days, and to think I was pouting I didn't get to go. So this week's lunches so far are just Green monkey's as little Blue is home sick.

Grandparents are special people
with wisdom and pride.
They are always offering love and kindness
and are always there to guide.
They often make you feel
so confident and strong.
Their arms are always open
no matter what you did wrong.
They try to help out
in every way that they can.
They love all their grandchildren
the same whether you're a child, woman or man.
They are always there to listen
and to lend a helping hand.
They show you respect
and they try to understand.
They give their love, devotion and so much more,
that's easy to see.
Grandparents,
what perfect examples
of the kind of person that we should be.
Today we are celebrating the 13th annual World Turtle Day. Since 2000 American Tortoise Rescue has been raising awareness on May 23rd to celebrate and protect turtles and tortoises.
So we played around with some of our favorite sealife and featured sea turtles in our veggies.

We just did a turtle lunch last week using out CuteZCute cutter for the shell as well. See that post here. Am I turtle enough for the turtle club?
A fellow Bento Blogger and Friends Lunchbox Dad recently posted a tutorial for his veggie turtles check it out.
Another random unplanned morning, and the green monkey requested a turtle. I'm still in love with my CuteZcute so I used it again. I have shiny toy syndrome, I get obsessed with my newest toys and use them to death. :)
In this lunch:
Peanut butter and jelly turtle with candy eye, the shell is the CuteZCute cutter upside down, the rest was free-hand
Our preschool comes to an end this week and only 3 1/2 more weeks of kindergarten so we definitely have summer on the brain. Not that they will all be summer themed some are still just random morning musings.
Panda
A while back my son wanted a panda, and I made a sorry attempt using my bear cutter, not quite as I envisioned, but now that I have a CuteZCute it deserved a revisit. I opted not to color it and just play with the sandwich stamp feature of the cutter.
In this lunch :
Peanut butter and jelly panda with raisinets and yogurt covered raisins for his belly
Cucumber slices
Apples - I was going for ball shapes to give panda some toys to play with :)
Beach Time
If you ask little blue monkey what summer means to him he will say its time to go to the beach.
In this lunch :
Peanut butter and jelly beach ball on a yogurt covered raisin beach with palm tree picks
Cucumbers wearing sunglasses
Apple flip flops
18 school days left for big green monkey, and 3 1/2 hrs left for blue monkey. I haven't done a request post yet, so if there is something you'd like to see us attempt before the end of the year, leave a comment below.
